At last night’s first meeting of NoVaMTC, Bob Sachs mesmerized us with a great activity about Conway Rational Tangles. If you weren’t able to join us, I posted a brief description of the activity on my blog.
Attendees had a great time, and they thought that another meeting before the end of the year would be a good idea. They also thought that a meeting around the time of SOL testing would be a good “sanity break,” so attendees asked that the second meeting be held:

For the fall, we will meet once a month, and we will alternate between Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Once all folks have their fall schedules in order, we’ll revisit the time; some folks suggested that 5:30-7:00pm might be better.
The first meeting of the Northern Virginia Math Teachers’ Circle will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Details below. We look forward to seeing you there!
